Create Your Own Digital Grad Portfolio Story

I stumbled upon this short video encouraging grads to create a portfolio story. I encourage high schoolers to keep a journal of their accomplishments, experience, etc. to use when creating their online digital portfolio, which proves to be invaluable when it’s time to apply for college.

It’s just about taking this idea to the next stage of your college journey and creating one as a soon-to-be grad or recent college grad! This idea is as relevant and powerful today as it was when I was first introduced to it as a college senior in the early 2000s.

I’m a huge Dr. Joan E. Dominick fan; brings back memories of when I attended Kennesaw State University as a sociology major. I also see one of my past, fellow classmates, Bethanie Izar, highlighted in the video.

Check out Dr. Dominick’s site @ for more info.

Soon to be grads and recent grads, start creating your digital grad portfolio today!

College freshman, sophomores and juniors, start keeping an online or written journal of your college accomplishments, experiences, internships, volunteer experiences, study abroad experiences, student organization positions and events led, etc., which you can revisit when creating your digital grad portfolio story.

It’s so easy to forget something cool you did, accomplished, learned, or were recognized for, which is why it’s so important to keep track along your college journey. It will also help with your resume and LinkedIn profile when it’s time to create and/or do some updates.

You can use a variety of easy to use platforms to get started – WordPress, Squarespace, Weebly are just a few suggestions.

What’s most important is to get started and be creative – this is YOUR story, tell it YOUR way!
